Procedures
First step: students should bring passport and temporary accommodation registration card to ISO, show them to ISO staff.
Second step:
(1) if you choose Shanglian Visa Agency, please take the note from ISO, passport, temporary accommodation registration card, ID picture and other documents (admission notice, JW202 form, etc) to the agent, pay the fees. You will get the receipt from the agent.
(2) if you choose to apply the visa with Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau on your own, you must get the visa application form from ISO first, and then bring passport, temporary accommodation registration card, ID picture and other documents (admission notice, JW202 form, etc) to the Bureau and get the yellow receipt.
Third step:
(1)please get your passport back on the designated time shown on the receipt with Shanglian Visa Agent.
(2)please get your passport back on the designated time shown on the yellow receipt from Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
Important information
1. Passport lost: if you lost your passport, report it to the close police station, get the paper of lost prove. Then come to International Student Office to update the information.
2. Visa extension: If you visa expired, you should go to the police station, pay the fines and get the receipt. Then bring the receipt to International Students Office to get a new visa. 。
3. Passport renewal：If you renew your passport in China, you should get a new visa within 10 days after you get the new passport. If you get a new passport in your own country, you should bring the old and new passport to the ISO and extend your visa accordingly.
4. Temporary accommodation registration card: If you live on campus, you should get it from the front desk of International Cultural Exchange Center. If you live off campus, you can get it from thefront desk of the hotel, or get if from local police station should you rent the apartment. If you renew your passport, move to a new place or get the new visa, you should get a new temporary accommodation registration card and update your information with ISO.
5. You can extend your residence permit without doing the physical examination.
6. If you enter China with the exempt visa, you cannot apply other types of visa or residence permit. You must leave China before expiration date and come back with a new visa.
