Financial Technology (“FinTech”) is developing rapidly globally. China undoubtedly has grown into a global leader in its burgeoning FinTech industry, including mobile payment, AI, Blockchain, Big Data, RegTech, WealthTech and other sub-sectors. Thus, there is greater demand of FinTech hybrid professionals and people are eager to learn more about FinTech knowledge and skills. The School of Finance, Renmin University of China as a leading finance education institution is launching its pioneering “MS in FinTech” program which will open application in Nov 2020 and starts class in Sept 2021. In the meantime, we are also organizing a series of open webinars focusing on topics of FinTech, Entrepreneurship, Investments and other hot business topics for all interested learners. We are grateful to have those outstanding speakers from industry leaders, influential policy makers and well-known scholars, many of whom are RUC’s alumni. Speaker bio:
Dr. XIA Le, Chief Economist and Head of Research at the Digital Economic Research Center (DERC) of PingAn Technology. He also serves as Senior Research Fellow in International Monetary Institute at Renmin University of China and Council Member of Academic Committee of International Financial Forum. Prior to joining DERC, Dr. Xia was Chief Economist for Asia at BBVA Research Department and worked for the Treasury Department of Bank of China (Hong Kong).
Dr. Xia has extensive interest in economic research, in particular for monetary policy and banking sectors in emerging economies. He has published his works in both academic journals and the international media, including Nikkei Asian Review, OMFIF Monthly Bulletin, People’s Daily, China Daily and FTChinese. He has been frequently invited to express views about the Chinese economy on Bloomberg, CNBC, CGTN, Phoenix TV, Financial Times and Wall Street Journal.
He obtained his PhD from the University of Hong Kong and a master degree from Renmin University of China.
